Cubs Knocking on the Door
The Cubs are one win away from their first World Series since 1945. The palpable tension of 1984, '89, '98, '03, '07 & '08 has yet to take effect on the current iteration of the Chicago Cubs National League Ballclub.…
2013 Hall of Fame "Ballot", Part II
Most baseball fans above the age of 10 have been waiting a long time for this year's Hall of Fame ballot. Later today, the Baseball Writers Association of America will release their yearly Hall of Fame voting results.…
2013 Hall of Fame "Ballot", Part I
This year's Baseball Writers' Association of America Hall of Fame ballot is the most crowded in over 65 years, when 95 players received votes in 1945 . Before we get to this year's fun, here's a glimps at the 1945…

The last time someone won the Triple Crown was over forty years ago, when Carl Yastrzemski did it for the Boston Red Sox in 1967 with a .326 average, 44 Homeruns, and 121 RBI. A year earlier, Frank Robinson had just won…
'Roids, Aging, & The Pride of the Goldpanners
It has been twenty years since this photo was taken, yet I saw it for the first time yesterday. Why is this photo not more celebrated? Anybody know where I can get a fake ID? Perhaps, I'm exaggerating the comedic value…
Single Season Homerun Record
No time for Hot Stove or Sleeper analysis today, but in anticipation of Mark McGwire's impending public castigation, I would like to provide my interpretation of the actual single season home run records, without Big…
It's Over for Sammy
The New York Times just ruined Sammy Sosa's evening . From the Michael S. Schmidt article... Sammy Sosa, who joined with Mark McGwire in 1998 in a celebrated pursuit of baseball’s single-season home run record, is among…
