AL Wild Card Race

Red Sox fans in New York, presumably everywhere, are freaking out over the team's recent play and sheepish 2.0 game lead over the amazing Tampa Bay Rays entering play today.

Worries over a sweep at the hands of the Orioles today rumbled through Midtown offices.

Taking a quick look at the games remaining: (h/t Ben Badler)

Red Sox—BAL (7), NYY (3)
Rays—NYY (7), TOR (3)

Boston 90.3%
Tampa Bay 8.6%
LA Angels 5.1%

With the favorable schedule, a 2 game lead could be enough for the struggling Red Sox to fight through the finish line with a playoff berth.

Don't panic, yet, Sox fans.

Try not to even sweat it if today's Weiland / Lackey double feature ends up a looking like a horror show.
