2011 Hall of Fame Voting Results

Congratulations to Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven!

Blyleven for the Hall peeps
could start backing Raines
I suspect that many of the people who fought for years to get Blyleven into the Hall will now use their energies for the campaigns of Tim Raines, Edgar Martinez, and Alan Trammell.

Barry Larkin and Jeff Bagwell had good showings that often precedes eventual enshrinement.  I'm surprised former triple-slash triple crown winner, Larry Walker, didn't get more support.

Jack Morris and Lee Smith keep hanging around.  Trends forecast that Morris's argument will gain steam, while Smith's will fizzle.

Let's wish a heartfelt sayonara to old favorites who did not receive enough support to remain on the ballot: Harold Baines, Al Leiter, and John Olerud.

  1. By far the most surprising thing is that a few people voted for BJ Surhoff or Marquis Grissom.

  2. it's fair to say that there's 16.3% of voters that should punch themselves in the head.
